Moonstruck
They gather in numbers under a masked, molten sky
Strange faces gesticulate strange claims
We exchange glances with the White Dwarfs!
Deserted, the diseased, float benumbed...
The dying twilight bleeds, burns
on the tip of a cigarette, ashen ghosts
of a past have arranged themselves
into a neat little row.
We throw a show!
We demonstrate our skills of execution
In this moonstruck amphitheatre amidst
grotesque forms of ghastliness.
The cold, lifeless sea passes surreptitously; concealing our ghosts within!
Our tea-party has begun
Soft conversation rolls all around us.
The music that bounces off the walls to the street,
Slips by the several strangers it meets,
Will find its way into a garden!
Incense, enchanted spells..
Out here everything disintegrates as it dances!
In a bit, frozen stars will restore us with their stony silence.
The Ancient Moon will wane as it wails for the sea; Sweet Nectar will be drunk....
We watch as the sky unmasks into darkness.
Much later , monstrous television constantly feeds the mentally obese!
